Ever heard of plastic floaters? In short, Little plastic chips that are floating in the sea. These articles may appear innocent and unassuming, however behind that modest look and feel is a genuinely risky risk for the untamed life in the sea and our regular habitat. We are learning more about the impacts on marine life, some of which can be traced back to these little bits of plastic.
Most sea creatures can take plastic floaters as food. This can cause them to inadvertently consume the plastic and fall ill, or even die. Take sea turtles for example, they usually mistake plastic bags as jellyfish and ingest them. This mistake can be deadly and make them very sick to their stomachs. Unfortunately this is no one else's fault but ours as these wonderful looking creatures have no idea what real food and plastic meant for our human consumption. ????
Plastic Floaters: A nefarious, behind-the-scenes killer of Marine Life They are silent killers that can be hard to see, but they spell disaster for countless denizens of the ocean. For instance, fish birds and dolphins can become ensnared in plastic bags or six-pack rings when they enter the ocean. If they become trapped, it can impede their swimming or prevent them from flying and breathing properly. This could potentially leave some of these animals with severe injury or even end up dead.
With over half the world's oxygen coming from oceanic plants and creatures, numerous waterways give life to majority of land animals. When ingested or entangled in their plastic, they are a threat to not only themselves but the overall ocean ecosystem. This could mean lesser number of fishes and birds in the sea, thus impacting everything from marine food web to health of coral reefs.
The other reason is that plastic floaters can degrade into small units, which are called microplastics. Whatever plastic filters out will break down into microplastics which are too tiny to see, and these plastics can be consumed more easily by sea animals. From there they could enter the food chain of humans once these animals stomach. In other words if we eat fish which is served with microplastics, than even without our knowledge that tract of said plastic will enter in us. This is a big problem as far as our health concerns.
This can be jagged-edged if the plastic is broken, and it hurts people who inadvertently stand on them. At the end of day for them pick up things in their usual place as well balls and half board games, tubes etc.. otherwise it is headache or worse clean even )… plastic bags are OF COURSE LEFT frankly not pretty. This can detract from the loveliness of our outdoor places and make them seem uninviting.
We can also ensure that we are disposing of our plastic waste correctly. This entails recycling whenever possible, composting organic waste or throwing plastic garbage into a container. This is why the thought of plastic waste on our beaches, and in our oceans makes me extremely frightened请永远不要乱丢垃圾也不能将塑料废物遗留在海滩和海洋
